Summer Capsule Wardrobe

May 19, 2020

HI! I’m Molly.

Here to encourage you on your own bold pursuit of intentional living as I live out my own. I’m passionate about running, spending time doing what I love and cheering others on to approach running with joy.

I’m a total newbie when it comes to creating something like this, but here’s a big look at my summer capsule wardrobe!

Let me preface this by saying: one, we’re in quarantine so we aren’t really going anywhere fancy (maybe just some family get togethers or social distanced picnics) and two, I’m a pretty casual dresser. I don’t particularly enjoy getting all dressed up, but I do like comfy and casual looks. I'm alllll about EASE when it comes to getting dressed! I’m trying to buy less and not buy into trends (I haven’t bought any tie dye yet!), which is another reason I wanted to try making a summer capsule wardrobe. What I found to be key was picking pieces that are super versatile and that make me happy to put on! My style has evolved a lot in the past few years and I’m still working to  fully build into something I love, but I’m really pleased with how this turned out! Let me know what you  think!

My #SummerCapsuleWardrobe is here! I had so much fun putting this #capsulewardrobe together because I am really trying to embrace more #simplicity. This helps a ton, check it out! #minimalism #minimalisticwardrobe

TOPS

Solid tees: I have three solid tees I wear- hunter green, white and black. These are so easy to accessorize and literally go with everything! Stripe tank: It gets freakin’ hot in Austin, y’all. Stripes basically go with everything too and are a fun change from solid tees. White blouse: A step up from t-shirts and looks effortless + cool.Floral blouse: This is a trend I bought into, but it’s been my only trendy purchase and I love it! It’s fun and different from my other tops.Fun cami: If you need to get dressed up, I always think a cami is super easy to wear in the summer dressed up. I have a silk black one I love.[show_shopthepost_widget id="4025140"]

BOTTOMS

Fun pants: My orange pants are my FAVE! They’re such a fun and easy way to add some spice to your wardrobe and go with everything.Fun shorts: I have a tendency to always wear denim shorts in the summer and wanted to diversify that a bit. I have a pair this color and guess what - they go with every top mentioned above. Boom. Midi skirt: Comfy and cute, I love midi skirts. You can find so many different colors and prints, too!Jeans: Because you always need a pair of jeans handy. I’m not a fan of white denim, but if you are, now is the time to bust them out!Denim shorts: Duh.[show_shopthepost_widget id="4025143"]

OTHER

Dress: I’m actually not the biggest dress person, but I think it’s important to have a cute summer one in your closet! Great for family get togethers and fun nights out.Jumpsuit: Is this not the jumpsuit of your dreams?! I love! So easy to accessorize and dress up or down. Denim jacket: My denim jacket is a staple - I’ve had it since at least college! [show_shopthepost_widget id="4025145"]

SHOES & ACCESSORIES

Sandals: These are seriously my go-to. They make any look feel and look more pulled together! Plus, they’re comfortable as heck. Platform sandals: Because I’m not a wedges or heels girl, these are still my comfy option, but super different from my other sandals!Sneakers: I love wearing sneakers with um, everything. I think it’s a cool, sporty and casual look that anyone can rock!Bandana: Loveeee bandanas. They’re such a fun addition to so many outfits that all these pieces can make! [show_shopthepost_widget id="4025146"]I didn’t include fun hair pieces, jewelry or a hat in my collage, but accessorizing can completely change an outfit don’t forget.
