My Skincare Routine as a Runner

February 9, 2023

HI! I’m Molly.

Here to encourage you on your own bold pursuit of intentional living as I live out my own. I’m passionate about running, spending time doing what I love and cheering others on to approach running with joy.

I'm sharing my simple skincare routine as someone who runs 5+ days a week!

As a runner, I am dealing with all kinds of sweat and dirt on my face almost daily. I wear little-to-no makeup and I really try to prioritize using intentional skincare products, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep to keep my skin healthy. I know not everyone likes to invest in skincare products, but finding products that are not only made with clean ingredients, but also work for me is important – I’m willing to pay up (to a certain extent lol) for what I am putting on my skin!

Here are the products I am currently using and the order I use them in!

My skincare routine:

MORNING:

I don’t use face wash in the morning because our skin repairs itself at night, so there’s no need to wash it when we wake up!

Glow Recipe Drops: I always use a serum after washing my face and this has been my go-to serum recently! It is extremely hydrating (thanks to the niacinamide) and also gives a little glow. I’ve been using a serum with niacinamide vs. a Vitamin C serum in the winter because my skin gets so dry during this time and I like the extra moisture!

Cocokind Eye Cream: I didn’t start using an eye cream until last year and honestly don’t know if I can tell a difference LOL but I feel like everyone says you should use one as you approach your 30s, so here I am! However, I do really like the metal applicator and think it feels really nice to put on.

Youth to the People Lightweight Moisturizer: In the mornings, I prefer using a more lightweight moisturizer that doesn’t take a long time to soak into my skin. This one by Youth to the People smells amazing and is one of the most lightweight lotions I’ve ever used. I love it and you don’t need much to cover your whole face, either!

Supergoop Glow Screen: I love this as both a sunscreen and light coverage instead of using makeup or some type of foundation. It’s tinted and gives the perfect amount of glow! I’ve been using it for years and have yet to find something I love as much as this.

NIGHTTIME:

Cocokind Cleanser: I like to spend more on products that actually stay on my face, so I love this cleanser as a more affordable option that still works really well and has clean ingredients!

Paula’s Choice Exfoilant: I use this both at night and in the morning, really just whenever I remember to haha! I use it a couple times a week and am shocked at what a difference it makes. It’s different from a lot of exfoilators that you’d wash off and you actually keep this one on! It helps with brightening your skin and cleaning pores.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow: This product is amazing and I can visibly see a difference every single morning after using it. I use it several times a week to promote cell renewal and my morning is glowing in the morning after! It’s worth every penny to me.

Farmacy Honey Halo Moisturizer: This is the thickest, most luxurious-feeling moisturizer I’ve ever used and I love it. I’ve used Farmacy products off-and-on for years and this is one I keep coming back to, especially in the winter when my skin is more dry. You don’t need much, so the little jar lasts for awhile and is so hydrating for my skin. If you struggle with dry skin, I cannot recommend this lotion enough!

I love trying new skincare products, so my routine does change every now and then, but this is a summary of everything I am using now!
